Ok designed the shingles in a different manner then any other house I have done. What I have done is made it easier for you the customer to apply real looking shingles to the house without having to apply speed strips or them individually one by one. What I did is cut speed strips, glued to a long paper and had my laser machine cut each set so that you the customer only need glue to the roof the completed parts. Also think it is always better then using paper shingles. The shingles are cut from 1/32 birch plywood and here are the pictures. Picture 1- close up of layed shingles in oct. pattern. picture 2- what will come in the kit of precut to fit shingles picture 3- Took me 10 minutes to glue on the shingles and here are the results. Feedback welcome...

Know some are waiting on the quarter scale house, I have been playing with the development of my own siding for all scales and today I think I am almost there. My hope is that once done the houses will have milled siding and not need to have them glued but be ready walls during the build. A picture of what I did today. The picture shows 1/2" milled, 1/4" milled, and 1/16" milled.. Attachments:

Still have not forgotten the quarter scale house, as a matter of fact been waiting on equipment to tool the edges more realistic and now that I have it I had to make templates for each item that requires routing out. I have completed this and here are the house new items below. Just got done and cutting the house out again to assembly but I know it will be a vast improvement. Your patience with what I am doing will be rewarded in a nicely detailed house.
This will be the base it is on,
This is the roof, pictured upside down.
This is the lower tower roof, again pictured upside down so you can see detail.
This is the upper tower cap, once again upside down
Finally this is the porch roof. As you can see for a 48 scale I think it look great and I personally can not wait to get it on the house to see if what I have imagined come out above expectation.

Well still had time before leaving for the night and decided to assemble the house real quick and get a look. I like it. How about you all?

The new roof details are really nice. What did you use to finish the front steps and foundation?
