Since the old forum will be closing down soon and replaced by this one, I thought I'd re-post a few of my own Little Ann pictures. I finished this cottage the end of last year and it was my first kit I'd made from Laser Dollhouse Designs. Looking at the photos I could see things I should have done and will correct when making another of Leonard's creations. Painting the raw wood under the shingles is something I'll always do in the future. Anyway, hope you like how the little cottage and if you have any pictures of your own kit, I'd love to see them posted! Thelma S. in Tucson

Thanks for the compliment, Kelly.
May I suggest you wallpaper and decorate the second floor before you put the roof on permanently? In this small scale the attic room's ceiling was pretty narrow to be doing any decorating afterwards.
I'm eager to see your results!

Thelma, your splendid Little Ann cottage demonstrates your high level of sophisticated ability both as a craftsman and artist.
I greatly admire your time and effort in creating this wonderful finished dollhouse, especially in view of the confined space used to accomplish the finishing details.

Thanks for your compliment, Shel. I'm not quite sure that my "high level of sophisticated ability" is true, but I do enjoy trying to learn from my MANY mistakes. Right now, I am happily awaiting another of Leonard's 1/4" scale kits and will post a few photos and my own pros and cons as I build it.
Hope to see MANY photos from you along the way.

Thelma, your humility is reassuring because whereas you have mistakes behind you, and thus are seasoned in experience, this will be my first effort in wood construction and all my mistakes are still ahead of me. My previous experience is plastic models and doll collecting (the latter having just tailoring requirements).
I will be happy to post pictures as my own projects progress, because I can see several possibilities that interest me here. Of course, I would be mot pleased to receive suggestions. Don't be shy.
By the way, I live in Merry Land (Maryland) which is warming up but expecting more snow mid-week. So I can sign this, "Wish I was in Tucson".

Thelma, You did a beautiful job with this! Love the shades of green, and your brick posts. I'm doing white painted bricks on my posts and steps. Can I ask what your bricks are made from?

Thanks for the compliment, Traci. The bricks are just a printie that I happened to have that were in an ultra small scale. Normally, I don't like to use printies, but they just seemed to look cute.
